The Ararat Ruritan Club, in response to school closings, has packed lunches for local elementary school students who might not receive lunch while classes are suspended. The club has packed and distributed over 120 bag lunches for children in need. Club Secretary Pamela Smith; members Mike Fulk, Jane Fulk and Mary Slate; Blue Ridge Elementary School principal Jen Cox donated their time to the cause. Smith said, “The Club wants to thank those who donated food and money for this community project.”
