The Ararat Ruritan Club will hold its monthly Jackpot Bingo at 6 p.m. Cost is $20 for 20 games; coveralls are $5 each plus door prizes and concessions. Each game pays out $50 with the cover-all payout at $150 if not won in 54 draws. This month’s jackpot is $1,100 if the coverall is won within 54 draws. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. with concessions including hotdogs, chips, candy, soft drinks, and bottled water.
Providence United Methodist Church in Patrick Springs will host a celebration of God’s love through the birth of Jesus from 6 to 8 p.m. Santa Claus plans to attend and will give special treats to everyone who attends. Drive thru to receive your treats from Santa, or stay for Christmas caroling, hot chocolate, and fellowship. Be sure to dress warmly for the fellowship under the stars. The rain date is Saturday, Dec. 18 at the same time and place.
Collinsville/Stateline Community Center will hold a drive thru Chicken Stew Meal starting at 4 p.m. The address is 2481 Collinsville Road, Westfield N.C., 27053.
The Vesta Community Quarter Auction will be held at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5 p.m. The funds raised will be used to help a fellow community member with health issues. $5 includes two paddles and one door prize ticket. Concessions will be by Momma M’s Concessions.

High Point Baptist Church, 2381 Big A School Road, Stuart, will hold a Shadow Christmas Drama at 6:30 p.m. You can watch from your car and listen on the radio at 88.7 FM.

Peters Creek Baptist Church will hold a Live Outdoor Christmas Drama, “Hallelujah, Praise the Lamb” at 6 and 7:30 p.m. on both dates.
Wednesday, Dec. 15
The Patrick County Food Bank will hold a distribution from 8:30 to 11 a.m. in Stuart and Ararat and from 5 to 6:30 p.m. in Stuart and Meadows of Dan.
Friday, Dec. 17

The Woolwine United Methodist Church mobile pantry will be at the Fairystone Fire Department from 3 to 5 p.m. Ross Harbour United Methodist Church will join with slightly used children’s clothing. There will be free food and free children’s clothing.

The 16th annual Johnny Casa 5 Millner 5K Run-Walk will be held in Rocky Mount at 9 a.m. start. Funds raised benefit the Southern VA Child Advocacy Center to help provide a comprehensive response to children who are victims of family and community-based violence. Early registration is $26 for individuals before Dec. 13 and $31 after this date. Turkey Shoot sponsored by the Patrick County Patriots on Saturdays in January – Jan. 8, Jan. 15, Jan. 22 and Jan. 29 – at the Smith River Wildlife Club, on Charity Highway in Woolwine. Practice begins at 12:30 p.m., competition starts at 1 p.m. Factory chokes only. No sleeves or re-chokes. Concessions by the Patrick County Patriots available for purchase.
The Coffee Break Café holds live music every Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument and join in, or just come and listen.
