Saturday, Jan. 29

Turkey Shoot, sponsored by the Patrick County Patriots, at the Smith River Wildlife Club on Charity Highway in Woolwine. Practice begins at 12:30 p.m., competition starts at 1 p.m. Factory chokes only. No sleeves or re-chokes. Concessions by the Patrick County Patriots available for purchase.

 

A cornhole tournament for Angela Bowman will start at 12 p.m. at the Stuart Rotary Building. Concessions will be available to purchase including pizza, chips, drinks, and desserts.

 

Sunday, Jan. 30

5th Sunday evening singing is scheduled for 7 p.m. as the Peters Creek Baptist Church, 6561 Hwy 8 N in Lawsonville, N.C., welcomes Roger Wells. All are welcome.

 

Friday, Feb. 4

The Woolwine United Methodist Church mobile food pantry and the Ross Harbour United Methodist Church children clothing ministry will be at the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.

 

Friday, Feb. 18

The Woolwine United Methodist Church mobile food pantry and the Ross Harbour United Methodist Church children clothing ministry will be at the Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.

 

Saturday, Feb. 19

The Ararat Ruritan Club will host its monthly Jackpot Bingo at 6 p.m. Cost is $20 for 20 games, coveralls $5 each PLUS door prizes and concessions. Each game pays out $50 with the cover-all payout at $150 if not won within 56 draws. This month’s jackpot is $1,300.00, if the coverall is won within 56 draws. Doors open at 5 p.m., with concessions which include hotdogs, chips, candy, soft drinks and bottled water.

 

Saturday, March 5

The Ararat Ruritan Club will host a Double Elimination Rook Tournament. Doors open at 5 p.m. Games begin at 6 p.m. Cost is $20/team ($10/person). Cash prizes will be dependent on number of teams. Concessions will be available.

The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen.

 

The Patrick County Library holds story time with Ms. Sam at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays, with books, songs, finger plays, and more. For more information, call the library at (276) 694-3352.

 

The Patrick County Library holds the LEGO Club with Ms. Sam on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. This program is mainly intended for school age children. For more information, call (276) 694-3352.
