LifeSpring, Resources for Hope & Healing, will present Kick-Start 2022, lifestyle seminar 2:30-4:30 p.m. The seminar will share powerful lifestyle tips with a spotlight on healthy menus and recipes. Featuring health and lifestyle educator, Barbara Watson Paille, author of the Amazing Health Cookbook, delicious plant-based entrees and desserts will be demonstrated, and taste samples served. The Ararat Ruritan Club will host a Double Elimination Rook Tournament. Doors open at 5 p.m. Games begin at 6. Cost is $20/team ($10/person) cash prizes will be dependent on the number of teams. Concessions will be available.

Rotary Field in Stuart will hold a Small Business Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with crafts, home décor, food and sweets, and more available for purchase.
The Francisco Fire Department will hold its annual chicken stew meal with each quart of chicken stew being $8 a quart. The department is only doing pre-orders, and stew will be ready for pick-up from 2-4 p.m. All orders must be submitted by midnight March 4. To order, see any fire department member or call (336) 351-2696 and leave a message with your name and telephone number and someone will call you back to verify your order. This year the department has partnered with Double Creek Fire Department to support kids in need and their families that attend Nancy Reynolds Elementary at Christmas. All proceeds will go to support that cause.

Surry Community College is offering a three-month NC Real Estate Provisional Broker Pre-Licensing course that will meet at the Pilot Center in Pilot Mountain. The class will start Monday, Feb. 21 and run through Thursday, May 26 with students meeting each Monday and Thursday from 6-9 p.m. The class will cost $182 for tuition and an additional $50 for the book and printed course materials.
