3-WHEEL SIDE CAR BASIC RIDER COURSE: Classes meet 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Henry County Public Safety Center, 1024 Dupont Road, Martinsville. Course teaches riders to safely operate a three wheeled vehicle, basic motorcycle operation, classroom and hands-on training. Motorcycles and helmets provided. Cost $100. Pre-Registration required. SATURDAY, MAY 25

SAMMY MARTIN VFW POST 7800 “BUDDY POPPIES”:  8 a.m. to 3 p.m., VFW Post 7800 will be handing out Buddy Poppies at Walmart, Stuart. Proceeds from donations will go to “Tunnel Towers,” “Patriot Paws,” “The VFW National Home for Children,” and “VFW Military Assistance Program.”

MUSIC AT THE PARK: 7 p.m., Fairystone State Park, 967 Fairystone Lake Drive, Stuart, Shelter 2.  Performance by Mason Via and Friends.

FISH FRY DINNER: 4 to 7 p.m., Patrick Springs Park, Patrick Springs. Sponsored by the Patrick Springs Ruritan Club.

COUNTRY BREAKFAST: 7 to 10 a.m., Meadows of Dan Community Center, 2858 Jeb Stuart Highway, Stuart. Breakfast foods available are: Biscuits, gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, apples, coffee, and juice. $8 per person. All proceeds to help the Meadows of Dan Community Center.

Rook is held each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Vendors will be set up on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, handmade items, jellies, baked goods, and other items. Breakfast and lunch available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Other activities also available including art room, sewing room, craft room, puzzles, corn hole, walking area and exercise room filled with equipment. Rentals areas also available. PCHS OPEN SHOP

Patrick County High School is holding open shop nights on Mondays from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. There is an annual $10 fee. The following equipment is available: ARC welders, MIG welders, torches, planers (10 boards per person per night), table saw, jointer, wood lathes, and many other metal and woodworking tools.
