The community food truck will be at the SRRS in Woolwine from 3-4 p.m.
The Stuart Farmers’ Market will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with local beef, poultry, fresh ground coffee, baked goods, fall plants and crafts: jewelry, birdhouses and other wood products.
Saturday, Oct. 3
The Woolwine Methodist Church will have a yard sale in the social hall beginning at 8 a.m. and make apple butter.
The Meadows of Dan Women’s Club will hold a bingo night at the Meadows of Dan Community Center. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. There will be food available and raffle drawings.

The Bassett Ruritan Club will host an open mic/jam session from 2-4 p.m. Admission is free.
Tuesday, Oct. 6
The Southern Area Agency on Aging in partnership with the Virginia Cooperative Extension will host a workshop called “Creating a Dementia-Friendly Home” where attendees can learn practical ways to make homes safe, more supportive, and easier to navigate for people living with dementia. The workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 1075 Spruce Street, Martinsville. Pre-registration is required by calling 276-632-6442.

SELECT @ Stuart will be held inside Patrick & Henry Community College, 212 Wood Brothers Dr., Stuart, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed for lunch 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
The Patrick County Senior Citizens Group will meet at 11 a.m. in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart. Entertainment will be provided by Johnny Joyce and Friends. Pizza, salads, and beverages will be provided for lunch. Attendees are requested to bring their favorite desserts to share with the group and are reminded to bring used shoes that will be donated to Alzheimer’s research.

The Patrick County Food Bank will hold its distribution day at its Stuart location from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m., at the Fellowship Church in Ararat from 8-10 a.m. and starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Building in Meadows of Dan.
