The Patrick County Community Food Bank will hold a food distribution day at the Stuart site from 8:30-11 a.m. and from 5-6:30 p.m. There will be a morning distribution in Ararat from 8:30-11 a.m., and an evening distribution in Meadows of Dan from 5-6:30 p.m.

The Woolwine Methodist Church food truck will be at the Fairystone Volunteer Fire Department from 3-5 p.m.

Patrick & Henry Community College (P&HCC) will hold a Minecraft Makers Camp at the P&HCC Dalton Idea Center from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $59, and the camps are limited to nine students. Pre-registration is required by going to ph.augusoft.net, or calling (276) 656-5461.

The Rise and Shine Youth Entrepreneur Market will hold its first market of the year in conjunction with the Stuart Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Critz Baptist Church, 3284 Dogwood Road, Critz, will hold a Kids Day Camp from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join us for Bible study, games, crafts, music and food.
CCDF Fire and Rescue will hold the second annual Crise for Dude Bike ride in memory of lifetime member Lynn Shouse. The event will be at 1409 Dry Pond, Highway. Registration starts at 9 a.m. and the bikes will pull out at 11 a.m. The cost is $20 per vehicle and includes one meal ticket. Additional meal tickets are $8 each.

In conjunction with the American Radio Relay League, Briarpatch Amateur Radio Club will hold Field Day at Higher Ground Church Camp in Carroll County, from noon Saturday through noon Sunday, and is free of charge. Early arrivals are welcome at the family friendly event which combines public service, emergency preparedness, community outreach, and technical skills in a single event for ham radio operators and spectators. There will be amateur radio license testing offered at 1 p.m. on Saturday for all prospective hams and radio operators who wish to upgrade their current license. The Patrick County Senior Citizens Group will begin its monthly meetings again on Thursday, July 13 at 11 a.m. in the Hooker Building at Rotary Field in Stuart. Senior citizens from Patrick and neighboring counties are encouraged to join others at the monthly meetings for fun, laughter, fellowship, musical entertainment, and delicious food. For this upcoming July meeting, Philip Adams, a gospel music entertainer, will be providing the music. The meal menu will consist of pizza, tossed salad, desserts, and beverages. Attendees should bring desserts to the meeting to share with others. Anyone with questions can call the Patrick County Parks and Recreation Department at (276) 694-3917.

Spread the love and donate to our Peanut Butter and Jelly Drive! The Patrick County Women’s Leadership Committee is collecting donations of peanut butter and jelly for the Patrick County Food Bank. Donations can be delivered to the Patrick County Farm Bureau office (across from Hardee’s). The deadline for donations is June 30. Help us, help the PC Food Bank.

The Ararat Ruritan Club hosts virtual raffles on its Facebook page on the first of each month. Various items are raffled off at $10 or $20 per limited chance. There are 30-35 chances on each raffle.
