Red Bank Ruritan Club will celebrate 70 years, 12-4 p.m., 1828 Red Bank School Road, Claudville. Music will be provided by The Country Boys, Jordan Morrison and the Foothill Boys, and Goodfellers. Food and refreshments will also be served. Bouncy house, face painting, and more activities for children. Bring your own lawn chair.
Ararat Ruritan Club, 4711 Ararat Highway, Ararat, will serve a country breakfast, 7:30-10 a.m. The cost is $10 per plate, which includes sausage, ham, apples, eggs, gravy, pancakes, homemade biscuits, and water, juice, or coffee.
Francisco’s 2nd annual Car Show and Cruise In will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 7100 NC Hwy 89W, Westfield, N.C. Everyone is welcome to bring their vehicles and the entrance fee for the car show is $20. Cruise-in parking will be free.
Pilot View Baptist Church, 887 Pilot View Road, Hillsville, hosts a special outdoor singing and cookout, 6 p.m. By Grace will perform.

175th Homecoming Service at Sycamore Baptist Church, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., with lunch to follow. Members will share history and memories; the Sycamore Sisters and The Revelators will perform.
The Patrick County Historical Society will host local author, Beverly Belcher Woody, at 2:30 p.m. at the Patrick County Historical Museum, 116 W. Blue Ridge St., Stuart. Woody will talk about her popular “Patrick County Pioneers: Volume I” book and her weekly newspaper columns. Admission is free.
Homecoming service at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church, 11 a.m. Special music by Tara Hollinsworth, covered dish lunch to follow.

A 4th of July Bluegrass and Old Time Music Competition from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vesta Community Center. Banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, bands, vocals, and flat footling competitions with three levels each: children, teens, and adult, and cash prizes for the top three competitors. The opening ceremony will be held by Patrick County VFW Post 8467, and the quilts of valor will be presented at 10 a.m. Hotdogs, BBQ, lemonade, soft drinks, and desserts will be for sale. The quilt show will be by Mountain Top Quilters. The event also includes a tractor show and games for children. Bring your own lawn chairs.

The Monday Market at Fairy Stone State Park will be held every Monday, rain or shine, through Labor Day from 5-7 p.m. at Shelters #3 & #4. This is a cash only market and parking is free.
The Coffee Break Café hosts live music on Tuesdays from 9 to 11 a.m. Bring an instrument, or just come and listen.

Patrick County Senior Citizens group is sponsoring three upcoming trips — three-days, two-nights to Lancaster, Pa., June 18–20, and a one-day trip on August 2 is planned to NarroWay Dinner Theatre, Fort Mill, South Carolina.
