Thursday, Aug. 27

The Patrick County School Board will convene a special session at 10:30 a.m. in the Patrick County High School Auditorium to re-visit the blended and virtual learning schedule. Anyone wishing to share their comments for the public comment period may do so via email at board@patrick.k12.va.us by 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 27. The meeting is live-streamed on Facebook.com/PatrickCountyPublicSchools.

Saturday, Aug. 29

Cruise-In at the Lambsburg Community Center, from 5 p.m. until dark. Backwater Band will perform a variety of music. Concessions will be available. A 50/50 drawing will be held. Ticket prices begin at $1 each. For more information, call (336) 648-2078

The Mountain Valley Hospice Alzheimer’s Support Group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 6-7 p.m. Meetings are held virtually due to COVID-19. Mountain Valley Hospice hosts a virtual caregiver support group on the first Thursday of each month at 1 and 6 p.m. The support group is for families dealing with serious illness, such as cancer, Alzheimer’s, congestive heart failure, or COPD. Cancellations due to COVIC-19:

Due to the coronavirus, the 44th annual Hughes Family Reunion will not be held.

 

The Beasley Family Reunion at the Francis Cove Community Center has been canceled.

Pancake Days in Meadows of Dan is postponed. As this is the only annual fundraiser for Meadows of Dan Ruritans, the Meadows of Dan Volunteer Fire Department, and the Vesta Rescue Squad, consider sending a donation to Meadows of Dan Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 804 Meadows of Dan, Va. 24120.
