The Friday Night Jam at the Lambsburg Community Center is starting up again from 6 p.m.-6:30 p.m. until quitting time. All area musicians are invited to come and join in the village of Lambsburg, VA. Food and desserts will be sold.
Saturday, Sept. 12
Patrick Henry Community College will host an Introduction to Photography class led by Rick Dawson, a certified professional photographer. The Patrick County Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. in the Board Room on the 3rd floor of the Patrick County Veteran’s Memorial Building.

The Remedy band will hold an outdoor concert starting at 6:30 p.m. at Ferrum Faith Assembly of God in Ferrum. Saturday, Sept. 26
The Patrick County Demolition Derby will be held at the Rotary Field Amphitheater starting at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $10 in cash at the gate. Children 12 and under get in for free.
The New Hope Church of the Brethren will hold a fundraiser from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for Ann Easter, whose home suffered major damage from an underground mudslide in May. The meal is drive-thru only and costs $8 per plate for BBQ pork, green beans, corn, slaw, roll, desert, and drink.
Saturday, Oct. 3
The Ararat Ruritan Club is selling 8-feet table “spots” for $10 for a “Vendor Blender” event to be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 12 tables will be reserved on a first-come-first-serve basis.
