Wednesday, Oct. 7

Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness, service with special guests the Rev. and Mrs. Richard Kingrea, evangelist, 7 p.m., 260 Spring Road, Patrick Springs. (276) 694-6357

Thursday, Oct. 8

The Patrick County Republican Committee will host a Grand Opening for its Election Headquarters starting at 6 p.m. at 102 W Blue Ridge St, Stuart, (at the top of Main Street). Light refreshments and door prizes, candidate yard signs, voter registration applications, and candidate literature will be available.

Friday, Oct. 9

The Rocky Mount Job Fair will be held at 551 Old Franklin Turnpike in Rocky Mount from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 10

The annual Ararat Ruritan Club BBQ will run from noon to 6 p.m. Plates will cost $10 and includes pork BBQ, potatoes, baked beans, slaw, roll, dessert, and a drink. Meals will be served “to-go” only, and delivery can be arranged if meals are preordered by calling (276) 229-6931.

Thursday, Oct. 15

The Tourism Advisory Council meets at 6 p.m. via online Zoom video communications. Login information will be noted on the Friends of Patrick County Tourism Facebook page. The public is invited to join the meeting.

Friday, Oct. 16

Deadline for silent auction bids on a 2001 Ford F450 4×4 Jeb Stuart Rescue Squad unit. Mileage is 142,336; maintenance logs are available upon request. Bids must be received by 5 p.m., and may be mailed to P.O. Box 340 Patrick Springs, Va., 24133.

Wednesday, Oct. 21

The Town of Stuart will hold a public hearing on the proposed issuance of general obligation debt by the town and the proposed wastewater treatment plant project. The hearing begins at 7 p.m. at the Stuart Town Office, 100 Patrick Avenue, Stuart.

The Stuart Farmers’ market is now open for on-site shopping on Fridays 8 a.m. to noon. No sales before 8 a.m. Masks and social distancing for patrons encouraged. Stay up to date with market events with Stuart Farmers’ Market Facebook Page.

Cancellations

The family reunion for the descendants of Jim Payne and Minnie Lankford has been canceled due to COVID-19. The reunion plans to resume next year.

Rose Window 40 Charity, 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Charity- Charity Primitive Baptist Church, 1:30 p.m. to 2:15 p.m.
