FREE COMMUNITY MEAL: pinto beans, cornbread, dessert and drink; 5:30 to 7 p.m., Creasey’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

FREE MEAL/FOOD DISTRIBUTION: church van available to pick up people on Wednesday and on Sunday mornings, to ride call the church at 694-6357; doors open at 5:30 p.m., meal at 6 p.m., food bank ministry open Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 3 to 5 p.m.; Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.

 

THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 8

BUFFALO RIDGE COMMUNITY CRIME WATCH: guest speaker: Investigator Danny Martin, topic: “Home Security and Gangs;” for information call Sgt. Dustin Foley or Sheriff Dan Smith at 694-3161; 7 p.m., Sycamore Baptist Church.

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 9

LOVE LOCAL MARKET: local vendors will sell items for Valentine’s Day including crafts, gifts, wine, goat cheese, meats and other goodies; for information visit the Stuart Farmers’ Market Facebook page; music by the F.A.R.M. T.E.A.M.; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., inside the Chamber of Commerce Office, 334 Patrick Ave., Stuart, below the farmers’ market.

MUSIC NIGHT: admission: $4; doors open at 5 p.m., concessions available, including chicken and dumplings; open mic at 5:30 p.m., music by the Shelton Brothers at 6:20 p.m., The Over the Hill Gang at 7:10 p.m., and The Hard Times Band at 8 p.m.; Spencer-Penn Centre, Spencer.

MUSIC: by Jim Philpott and Friends, food available: breakfast for a $5 donation; lunch for $6; 10 a.m. to noon, HJDB Event Centre, Bassett.

 

SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10

HOEDOWN: free admission, music by Friends of the Fire Department; poor man’s supper available for purchase from the ladies’ auxiliary, menu includes pinto beans, mashed potatoes, slaw and cornbread for $5 per plate; drinks and desserts also available; 5 to 8 p.m., fire department grounds, Woolwine.

PAINTING CLASS: instructor: Teedgra Blackstock, acrylic painting, everyone doesn’t have to paint the same picture, cost: $25, supplies are provided, call (276) 957-5757 to pre-register (required); 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Spencer-Penn Centre.

 

SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 11
