WEDNESDAY, MARCH 7

FREE MEAL/FOOD DISTRIBUTION: church van available to pick up people on Wednesday and on Sunday mornings, to ride call the church at 694-6357; doors open at 5:30 p.m., meal at 6 p.m., food bank ministry open Mon., Wed. and Fri. from 3 to 5 p.m.; Patrick Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church.

MOUNTAIN TOP BLOOD DRIVE: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Meadows of Dan Community Center, 2858 JEB Stuart Hwy.

 

FRIDAY, MARCH 9

POP-UP STUART FARMERS’ MARKET: goat cheeses, wine, meats, eggs, baked items, crafts and more for sale; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Patrick County Chamber of Commerce office, Patrick Ave., downtown Stuart.

SHARP LOGGER CLASS: third class of three required by loggers to be certified in sustainable forestry; training class on Best Management Practices (BMPs) and water quality; for new loggers or those whose certification has expired; to sign up for the program, call Andrew Vinson at Virginia Tech at (540) 231-6494; snacks provided by Griffith Lumber, noon to 6 p.m., Patrick Henry Community College community room, Stuart.

MUSIC NIGHT: $4 admission; concessions available at 5 p.m., open mic at 5:30 p.m., music by Don Smith and the Foggy River Boys and Marshall Brothers and Highroad to follow; Spencer-Penn Centre, 473 Spencer-Penn Road, Spencer.

BINGO/MEAL: fund-raiser for the sixth-seventh grade trip to Richmond; $25 package includes 20 games, two coverall games, two door prize tickets and one dauber; door prize tickets and coverall games also available for purchase; chicken fillet sandwich, Tater Tots, dessert and drink for $5, eat in or take out; meal from 4 to 6:30 p.m., bingo begins at 7 p.m., Woolwine Elementary School gym and cafeteria.

MONDAY, MARCH 12

ROOK/BIBLE STUDY: breakfast ($5) at 8:30 a.m. and lunch ($6) available at 11:30 a.m. every Monday, Wednesday and Friday; Rook games from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Bible study at 11 a.m., room 6; HJDB Event Center, Riverside Drive, Bassett.

PCHS OPEN SHOP NIGHT: open each Monday; $10 annual fee;
