C&C Associates and The AWARE Foundation will present an evening concert on Saturday, August 13 at Chantilly Farm in Floyd that will feature three up-and-coming country music artists.
Headlining the evening’s show will be Amanda Watkins, a rising star in the country music industry who has opened for Dierks Bentley, Brad Paisley, Martina McBride and others. Watkins was recently featured on one of country superstar Jamey Johnson’s latest singles, “If I Was Over You,” and American Songwriter magazine credited Watkins with delivering one of the top five best performances at Bonnaroo, one of the nation’s largest music festivals.
“Not only is Amanda an incredibly talented vocalist, but she has a personality that shines like so few artists I’ve seen,” said Wilton Cromer, one of the show’s lead sponsors and organizers.
Rutledge, a band based in the Roanoke area and led by front-man Adam Rutledge, have developed a following that extends far beyond Southwest Virginia. The band’s latest single, ‘Live the Song,’ is quickly becoming a fan favorite and the band’s high energy stage show impresses audiences wherever the band plays.
Kicking off the evening’s performances will be Krista Hughes, a West Virginia native that America fell in love with during her time as a recent contestant on NBC’s hit television show, “The Voice.” The show provided Hughes with international exposure and catapulted her career to an entirely new level.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the concert will begin at 6 p.m. Guests should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Coolers or pets are not allowed. Food will be available on-site throughout the evening and a variety of beers will be available in a designated area for those age 21 and older.
Tickets for the concert are available for $18 in advance at www.chantillyfarm.com/wp/tickets or may be purchased for $25 at the gate. Children 12 and under will be admitted free. A $2 parking fee will be collected to benefit The AWARE Foundation and its important work of promoting awareness and assisting in the location of missing and endangered persons.
