Cougar track competes at Franklin Co.

Members of the Patrick County High School track team competed in a four-team meet at Franklin County High School last Wednesday.

The Lady Cougars finished third behind Franklin County and William Byrd. Staunton River finished fourth. On the boys’ side, the Cougars finished fourth; Staunton River won the meet with Franklin County and William Byrd finishing second and third, respectively.

Lexy Carico led the Lady Cougars with a first in the discus (121-3) and first in the shot (33-05).

Armonte Carter was first in the 200m dash with a time of 28.64; she was second in the 100m and the 400m dashes.

Ashton Collins finished first in the 3200m run with a time of 14:05.04.

Macie Rogers was third in the 800m run.

On the boys’ side, Juan Cisneros placed first in the 3200m run with a time of 10:06.94. .Matt Amos was first in the shot with a throw of 42-6; he placed second in the discus with a throw of 110-9.

Tommy Pauley was second in the 400m dash, and Monroe Morse placed third in the 3200m run.
