Cougars fall to Floyd County in football game

The Patrick County Varsity Football Team lost 12-32 at Floyd County Friday, September 2. 

The Cougar offense was led by Demontez Hill with 85 yards on 15 carries with a rushing touchdown. Aden Penn had one rush for 3 yards and 2 receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown. Peyton Cambron added 7 yards on one reception, and Jermaine Penn tallied 8 yards on 3 carries and had one reception for 35 yards. Triston Underwood went 3 for 5 passing including an 82-yard pass for a touchdown. Underwood threw 1 interception. Hill went 1-3 passing for 35 yards and threw 1 interception. Stephen Spencer added 10 yards on 2 carries. Defensively, the Cougars were led by Sam Hubbard who had 13 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. Cambron added 8 tackles. Spencer and Jay Howard recorded 7 tackles each, and Howard had one forced fumble. Matthew Allen and Payton Stovall both recorded 5 tackles with Stovall recording one tackle for loss and one sack. Hill, Carlos Beccerril, Jermaine Penn, Will Black, Ty Stowe-Holt, Rawl Mabe, and Underwood all recorded tackles for the Cougars with Underwood recording an interception as well.

The Cougars will be back in action next Friday night at John D. Hooker Field in Stuart where they will host North Stokes High School.
