It was a battle of the pitchers in last Monday’s final regular season game between the Patrick County High School Cougar baseball team and the Magna Vista High School Warriors.
Neither team had a hit until the bottom of the sixth inning when Magna Vista picked up two hits to score the single run that won them the game.
Patrick County picked up two hits in the top of the seventh but could not get the runners home, ending the game with the Warriors winning 1-0.
Caleb Pendleton and Andrew Collins were the only batters to connect in the game.
Pendleton went the distance on the mound, striking out two batters.
The Cougars opened Conference 32 play Monday night playing #3 Abingdon at 5 p.m. in Abingdon.
