Patrick County had the crowd on edge in the Cougar Den when they hosted GW Danville on Tuesday, January 10. The Eagles went into the locker room at halftime with a 32-24 lead, but the Cougars came out strong, outscoring GW 17-8 in the 3rd.

Unfortunately, GW had more steam in the 4th, taking a 70-67 win over PC. David Smith had 21 points for the Cougars. Jaivontae Penn had 16 points, George Payton Stovall had 12, while Michael Nelson and T.J. Wimbush had 6 points each.

“What a game!” Coach Brian Chitwood said. “So proud of my guys for never laying down.  We continued to fight all night. Came up one shot short. Tremendous effort by all of our guys. Kudos to GW Danville for pulling out a close one.”
