Cross County Team Headed Back to State

The Patrick County Cougars Varsity and Middle School Cross Country Teams competed in the Three Rivers District Championships on October 29th, at the Smith River Sports Complex in Martinsville, VA. Greely Terry led the Boys Varsity Team, finishing 9th. Noah Hiatt finished 11th and William Overby finished 14th. 

In the girls’ race, Mackenzie Williams finished 13th followed by Ellianna Montgomery who finished 14th. In the middle school championship race, Bella Wright finished 3rd overall in the girls’ race and Levi Hankins was 3rd overall in the boys’ race. 

On Tuesday, November 5th, the Boys and Girls Teams competed in the 2C Regional Championship at Green Hill Park in Salem, VA. The boys finished 3rd overall earning their way to their 2nd consecutive state championship. The boys’ team was led by Noah Hiatt who finished 4th overall with a time of 17:15. The 2A State Championship will be held on Saturday, November 16th, at the Virginia Tech Cross Country Course in Blacksburg, Virginia.
