CRYSTAL RUTH “TOOTSIE” HOLT CASSADY

Mrs. Crystal Ruth “Tootsie” Holt Cassady, age 88 of Stuart, passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at the Blue Ridge Therapy Connection in Stuart. She was born in Patrick County on March 6, 1931 to the late Will and Ruth Mc Hone Holt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Doug Cassady; a granddaughter, Tina Goad Inman; two sisters, Lena Gray, Alice Martin; three brothers, Woodrow, Jesse, and Conrad Holt; a daughter-in-law, Lucille Cassady; and two sons-in-law, Doug Wood and Sam Barnes. Tootsie was a member of Stateline Primitive Baptist Church.

Surviving are five daughters and son-in-laws, Brenda Conner and Brad Goins of Stuart; Becky Barnes of Stoneville, N.C.; Bonnie and Ervin Goad of Stuart; Ann Wood of Stuart; Amy and W.C. Taylor of Bassett; two sons and daughter-in-law, Paul and Sherry Cassady of Claudville; Clarence Cassady of Martinsville; 8 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; 4 step great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was held Saturday, April 20 at Patrick Memorial Gardens with Pastor Shaun Draughn officiating. Online condolences may be sent to www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
