Curtis “Eugene” Anglin

Mr. Curtis “Eugene” Anglin, age 73 of Woolwine, Virginia passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, October 11, 2022.  He was born in Patrick County on December 29, 1948, to the late Charles Walter Thomas Anglin and Freeda Compton Anglin.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Walter Anglin.  Eugene was a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service.  He enjoyed working on old cars, going to car shows, watching drag racing, and fishing.  He loved his family deeply and especially loved being “Poppie” to his grandchildren.

Mr. Anglin is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Sandra Houchins Anglin of the home; three sons, Bruce Dale Anglin and wife, Laura of Hardy, Charles “Chip” Thurman Anglin and wife, Misty of Boones Mill; and Walter Eugene “Wally” Anglin and wife, Mia of Hardy; six grandchildren, David, Haden, Everett, Owen, Stormie, and Coalton; and one brother-in-law, Roger Houchins of Ferrum.

A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, October 14, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at DeHart Park in Woolwine with Pastor Douglas Shuff Officiating.  Military rites provided by Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Moody Funeral Home in Stuart has been entrusted with the arrangements and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care and to Ravenel Cancer Center for the care and compassion given to Eugene and their family.
