The Colonel Abram Penn Chapter National Society Daughters of the American Revolution works to promote literacy. Chapter Regent Ann McConnell recently presented author Brad Meltzer’s book, “The First Conspiracy: The Secret Plot to Kill George Washington,” to Patrick County Library Branch manager Garry Clifton. DAR members dedicate themselves to historical preservation, education and patriotism.
