DAR recipient announced at Meadows of Dan Elementary

Adam Thompson receives the DAR award as he is promoted to the eighth grade.

Adam Thompson was selected as the 2018-2019 DAR (Daughter’s of the American Revolution) recipient. Thompson is a rising eighth grader from Meadows of Dan and the son of Nevada and Jennifer Thompson.

The DAR award recognizes and rewards individuals who possess the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism in their home, school and community.  Thompson possesses all of the above traits and he exemplifies outstanding character and citizenship in all of his relationships with teachers, staff, and other students.

Thompson has been promoted to Patrick County High School with all A’s in his coursework and he received the Principal’s Award from Patrick County Public Schools. He has excelled in his coursework since transferring to Meadows of Dan in the sixth grade. Thompson maintains a smile in every circumstance and is consistently helpful to both staff and fellow classmates. 

He enjoys all subjects in school and is active in Junior BETA and Cardinals for Christ. His hobbies include playing basketball, hunting, and playing video games. Thompson wants to someday become a chemist or
