The members of Col. Abram Penn Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution are proud of the recognition given by the staff of each school in Patrick County.

It gives us great pleasure to recognize the outstanding achievements of some of the many great county students.

The highest recognition this year goes to Gracen Edwards for her high school achievements in academic, sports, citizenship, and leadership roles. Gracen participated in the Praise and Worship Team; volleyball, indoor and outdoor track; the Color Guard; the yearbook club; and the FCA club.

For her great attitude and general positive outlook, she was selected by the staff as recipient of The Good Citizen award. She will use her monetary reward to further her education at Patrick Henry Community College, where she plans to prepare to become a Physical Therapist Assistant.

The elementary schools were also pleased to have such deserving students to be recognized for their school and community service.
