Mr. David Raymond Light, age 72 of Stuart, Virginia passed away at his home on Thursday, July 28, 2022. He was born in Patrick County on December 14, 1949, to the late Harley Raymond Light and Mabel Light Biggs. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Donald Light; one sister, Peggy Ann Light; and his stepfather, James Biggs. David was a genealogy enthusiast, a history buff, and a history teacher. He enjoyed sharing history lessons with family and friends. He retired from teaching and later drove a limousine for travelers at Roanoke Blacksburg Regional Airport.

Mr. Light is survived by one sister, Betty Martin and husband, Bobby of Lawsonville, North Carolina; one brother, Billy Light of Collinsville, Virginia; nieces, Juliette Collins, Deborah Kawamura, Tammy Myers; and nephews, Todd Martin, Timothy Martin, and Scott Light.

A memorial service for Mr. Light will be held at a later date. Family and friends can come by Moody Funeral Home in Stuart to sign the register book and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
