Dixie Youth Team competes in three game series

The Patrick County Dixie Youth All Star Ozone Team competed in a best of three-game series against the Carroll County Allstar Ozone team. 

PC travelled to Carroll for game 1, getting a 20-5 win in 5 innings.

Mark Register got the win on the mound with 5 strikeouts, 4 walks, 3 hits, allowing 4 runs in three innings of work.  

Reid Corns and Jaxon Handy finished out the 5-inning game. Corns struck out 2, walked 1, and allowed 1 run. Handy recorded 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.  

Register led PC at the plate, going 2-3 with 1 walk. 

Mason Cassell was 2-5 with a double and 2 RBIs, and Levi Hankins was 2-4 with a walk. Caleb Vaughn and Ben Joyce each went 1-2 with 2 walks, and 2 RBIs.  

Ethan Errichetti and Brayden Hylton reached base all at bats. Hylton was 1-1 with 3 walks and Errichetti reached on a fielder’s choice, an error, and was hit by a pitch twice.  

Tucker Collins recorded an RBI, and Steven Brooks got a hit.  

Game two was played at Patrick Springs Park and the PC Allstars got a 10-0 win in 4 innings. 

Mason Cassell recorded the win on the mound, facing 13 batters and throwing a no hitter, with 5 strikeouts and 1 walk. Cassell also led the PC at the plate going 3-3 with 2 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 RBI.  

Reid Corns was 2-2 with 2 doubles, and Ben Joyce was 2-2. 

The players would like to thank everyone that came out to Patrick Springs Park for Game 2.  

As the team was preparing to take the field for Game 2, they said they had never seen that many people at a game, and they were so excited to see so many spectators in the stands.
