Donald Edward Wilson, 87, of Winston-Salem, N.C., died on Friday, August 23, 2019, at Mountain Valley Hospice Center in Yadkinville, N.C. He was born on September 5, 1931 in Jacksonville, Fla. to the late Minnie Inez Harold. He also preceded in death by two great-grandchildren; Donald E. Wilson IV and Alexandria Rose Scolavino. He was of the Baptist faith and an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church before moving out of the area. He retired from the United States Air Force after proudly serving twenty years. He became a Mason more than fifty years ago and was a past Master of Mountain Home Masonic Lodge #263. He was also a proud member of the Scottish Rite and the Shriners.
Surviving are his wife; Betty Wilson of fifty-eight-years, four children; Donna Yates
(Larry) of Spokane, WA, Marilyn Burns (Donald) of Livermore, Calf., Donald E Wilson,
Jr. (Lori) of Bonnie Lake, WA, Michele Brassell of Stuart, two sisters; Jean
Williams of Lakeland, Fla., Marilyn Harriott of Orlando, Fla., one brother; William Gnann of Starke, Fla., ten grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Hillcrest Baptist
Church with Pastor Doug Ramsey and Pastor Randy Alidge officiating. Burial will
be at High Point Baptist Church Cemetery in Stuart, with Military Rites by
Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard and Masonic Rites by Mountain
Home Masonic Lodge #263 Stuart.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, August 28,
2019 at Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to the Masonic Lodge #263 P.O. Box 123 Stuart.
