Douglas Holt passed away at his home in Stuart Virginia on Saturday January 4th at 82 years of age. Funeral services will be held at 1pm, Friday January 10th at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart. Douglas is survived by his wife Judith Holt, sister Julia Head, daughter Sally Baker (Jacob), son Richard Holt (Sabine) and three grandchildren, Philip, Alyssa and Fiona. Douglas is preceded in death by his father John Hardman Holt, mother Mary Whitter Holt and sister Anne Caldwell.

Douglas was born November 4th, 1942, in Bolton, United Kingdom. In 1964 Douglas married the love of his life Judith Boydell, whom he would go on to have two children with, Sally and Richard. As a young professional, Douglas began his career as an apprentice working for his father in a textile mill in Bolton. Having found success and a passion for the field, in 1983 Douglas and his family make the move to Roscrea Ireland where he became a plant manager for a textile mill. After working several years in Ireland another opportunity presented itself. Douglas accepted a position as a plant manager in South Carolina, United States in 1987 where he remained until he retired.

In his free time and during retirement, Douglas enjoyed visiting his children in Georgia and in Switzerland. Douglas loved spending time with Judith, enjoying dinners, as well as reading and gardening. Douglas was known for his friendly demeanor, sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him.
