Mr. Edward Lee Barnes, Jr, age 55 of West Allis, Wisconsin, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at the home of his daughter. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on May 8, 1963. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Lee Barnes, Sr. and two brothers, Everett Barnes and John Barnes. Mr. Barnes faithfully served in the United States Army, had attended Calvary Bible Church in Wisconsin, and was an avid Steelers fan. Mr. Barnes had worked at Straight Shot Express and Performance in Wisconsin for 13 years. Eddie will be remembered as a beloved father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.

Mr. Barnes is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Jeremiah Mabe of Stuart; his mother, Delores Rose Barnes of Martinsville; two stepchildren, Chasity Gammon of Martinsville and Christopher Gammon of Pound, Va.; two grandsons, Nathan Beiersdorf and Logan Mabe; a sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Steven Bowman of West Virginia; a brother, Samuel Barnes of Martinsville; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Doris Bishop of Florida.

Memorial services will be held on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Stuart with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Burial will be private. The Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard will provide military rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Thursday evening. The family will have a meal at the home of his daughter following the service. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
