A GoFundMe account recently was initiated to help the family of Isaac Rakes with his final expenses.

Rakes, 18, unexpectedly passed away on Saturday, March 19. He was a senior at Patrick County High School.

He enlisted in the Marine Corps on Friday, according to Marie Nixon, who started the memorial request at the behest of Rakes’ father, Terry Stump.

Stump “was worried about the expense of the funeral and the fact that he did not have the money to bury his son,” she said.

As of Monday, March 21 the GoFundMe has raised $2,380 of the $5,000 goal.

Nixon said she will leave the page up for at least the next 90-days.

To donate to the GoFundMe, go to https://www.gofundme.com/f/8vuky-memorial-expenses?qid=fcc3243048a84c70d68e8809e492193a.
