Mrs. Eleanor Ann Philpott Stegall, age 76 of Meadows of Dan, Virginia passed away at her home on September 21, 2019. She was born in Durham, North Carolina on September 1, 1943, to the late Baxter Holt Philpott and Beulah Scott Philpott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Thomas Philpott and Baxter Kearns Philpott. Ann will be remembered as a talented painter and musician. She enjoyed camping and had a great love for animals of all kinds.  Ann had a childhood dream of becoming a nurse. That dream was put on hold after getting married and starting a family but once her children were older she pursued and achieved that dream. She became a highly respected LPN and used her passion for nursing to aid her patients. Her greatest accomplishments is without a doubt, her family, she was a very devoted wife and loving mother.

Mrs. Stegall is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gerald Wayne Stegall, Sr. of the home; one son, Gerald Wayne Stegall, Jr., also of the home; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Niece and husband, Jerry Wayne of Virginia Beach, VA; two nieces, Cindy Atwater of Chapel Hill, N.C. and Lynn Mabry of Rougemont, N.C.; and one nephew, Mike Philpott of Durham, N.C.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Pastor Michael Shockley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
