BREAKFAST: (Free to all students) Grab and Go carts in each school; traditional breakfast in dining room: Mon.: Labor Day (no school); Tues: blueberry muffin, biscuit and gravy; Wed.: pancake and sausage on stick; Thurs.: mini cinnis, scrambled eggs and toast; Fri.: ham croissant.
Cereal, toast, Pop Tart, string cheese, assorted fruit and juice, and a choice of milk are offered daily.
Schools must offer at least four food items from the three required components (fruit, grains, milk). The student must select three food items, including at least 1/2 cup fruit, to have a reimbursable meal.
LUNCH: Mon.: closed; Tues: pizza or pork carnita, Mexican rice, sautéed peppers and onions, steamed broccoli, fruit cup or fresh fruit; Wed.: hamburger or pasta primavera and roll, lettuce, tomato, pintos, fruit cup or fresh fruit, cookie; Thurs.: chicken and noodles with roll or pork patty with gravy and roll, sweet potato casserole, corn, spiced apples or fresh fruit; Fri.: cheese sticks with pizza sauce, honey barbecue pork rib on bun, vegetable chili, coleslaw, turnip greens, fruit cup or fresh fruit.
WOW butter sandwiches (with or without jelly), toasted cheese sandwiches, chef’s salad, tossed salads, and a choice of milk are offered daily. Must offer food items containing five components (fruit, vegetables, grains, meat, milk). The student must select three food components, including at least 1/2 cup fruit or vegetable to have a reimbursable meal.
