Scott and Teresa Cassady of Bassett would like to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brooke Nicole Cassady of Charlottesville, to Justin Rankin Lloyd, also of Charlottesville. Justin is the son of Gwen Lloyd of Mebane, N.C., and Phil and Amy Lloyd of Burlington, N.C.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of David Biggs of Bassett and the late Mary Ellen Biggs, and Lillie Cassady of Bassett and the late James W. Cassady.

She is a 2012 graduate of Patrick County High School and a 2015 graduate of Averett University in Danville. She is currently employed as a third grade teacher at Madison County Public Schools in Madison.

The bridegroom-elect is the grandson of the late Bill and Alice Rankin, who lived in Durham, N.C., and Robert Lloyd of Graham, N.C., and the late Shirley Lloyd.

Justin is a 2012 graduate of Eastern Alamance High School in Mebane, and a 2016 graduate of Averett University in Danville. He is currently employed as a lead program coordinator with Boys and Girls Club of Central Virginia in Charlottesville.

A June 2018 wedding is planned.
