Ervin Eugene “Gene” Trexler, age 70 of Stuart, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2016 at Northern Hospital of Surry County.
He was born in Salisbury, N.C., on November 4, 1945 and was a son of the late Paul Henderson Trexler and Dolly Talbert Trexler. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Olie May Gray Trexler; two sisters, Mary McAdams and Ruth Wilson; a brother, James Trexler; and a son-in-law, Charles E. Armbrester Sr.
He was a member of Five Forks Wesleyan Church; he truly enjoyed the love and fellowship he found with his church family. He enjoyed camping and fishing as long as his health allowed. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are four daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle Piwowarski and husband Robert of Hertford, N.C., Carolyn Armbrester Marshall and husband Mike of Stuart, Sandy Wimbish and husband Steven of Jefferson, Ga. and Jeanette Trexler of Stuart; eleven grandchildren, Amanda Piwowarski, Allyson Jarvis, Tina Piwowarski, Andrea Armbrester, Charles Armbrester Jr., James “Lucky” Trexler, Jessica Trexler, Morgan Marshall, Hunter Wimbish, Elizabeth Wimbish, and Micheal Marshall Jr.; two great-grandchildren, Jayden Bowling and Kaylie Piwowarski; a sister, Margaret Agee of Stuart; a brother, David M. Trexler of Salisbury, N.C.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today (Wednesday), April 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Five Forks Wesleyan Church with Pastor Dave Henry officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Five Forks Wesleyan Church cemetery.
The family requests that donations be made to Five Forks Wesleyan Church, 3778 Salem Highway, Stuart, VA 24171.
