Eunice Lee Clanton Cobb, age 89, of Patrick Springs, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, August 25, 2016.
She was born in Patrick County on April 11, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Julius Alexander Clanton and Lucy Bell Reynolds. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harvey Cobb; a daughter, Lucy Ann Hunt; a great-grandson, Emory Cobb; five sisters, Pauline Clanton, Ida Bea Penn, Marie Reynolds, Maxine Clanton, and Sallie Mae Clark; and three brothers, George Franklin Clanton, Marshall Clanton, and John Clanton.
She was a member of Gethsemane Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she was the mother of the church. She enjoyed watching things grow, especially flowers and children. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving are five daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Zeke Hunt of Martinsville, Clara Lee and Steve Penn of Spencer, Dorothy Holmes of Critz, Faye Cobb of Patrick Springs, and LaVerne Penn of Patrick Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert E. Cobb Sr. and Rita of Patrick Springs, and Michael Cobb and Denise of Burlington, N.C.; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and a great host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on Tuesday at Gethsemane Pentecostal Holiness Church on Blackberry Rd, Bassett, with Bishop Gordon Warren eulogizing and Bishop Mac Daniel Preston presiding. Burial followed in Mt. Nebo Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery located in Patrick Springs.
