Exie Lankford Goard, 88, of First Street Drive, Patrick Springs, died on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.
She was born on April 16, 1928, to the late Ida Hill and Frank Lankford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Goard; three sisters, Dorothy Hardy, Ollie Johnson and Mary Ellen Pack; four brothers, William Lankford, Coy Lankford, Charlie Lankford and Henry Lankford; and one stepson; Jeffrey Goard.
She worked for Bassett Furniture Company as a sprayer for many years.
Surviving are her son, Alexander Toufas of Ridgeway; one daughter, Janice Keatly of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and two sisters, Margaret Massey of Patrick Springs and Pauline Nelson of Stuart.
The funeral was held Friday at Norris Funeral Services Chapel in Stuart with the Rev. J.R. Shelton officiating. Burial was in Patrick Memorial Gardens in Stuart.
