A public meeting to discuss the long-range plan for Fairy Stone State Park will be July 28 at 6 p.m. at the park\u2019s Fayerdale Hall Conference Center, 1003 Fairystone Lake Drive, Stuart.\r\nStaff with the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation will provide an overview of proposed updates to the park\u2019s master plan.\r\nEach state park has a master plan that guides development. Plans are updated every 10 years.\r\n\u201cMaster plans outline the desired future condition for a park when it is fully developed,\u201d said DCR Park Planner Bill Conkle. \u201cWe welcome public input in the planning process.\u201d\r\nThe draft master plan for Fairy Stone proposes a visitor center, enhancements to the amphitheater, renovation of 25 cabins, campground upgrades and renovation of the beachfront area.\r\nThe 4,741-acre park is situated on Fairy Stone Lake in Patrick and Henry counties.\r\nComments about this master plan update will be accepted through August 28.
