Project Connect Outreach Advocate Ann Walker will be available to help families fill out applications for FAMIS Insurance and answer questions on Wednesday October 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Piedmont Community Services, 22280 Jeb Stuart Highway, Stuart.

Walk-ins are welcome as Walker helps families apply for FAMIS, Virginia’s free/low cost health insurance program for children and pregnant women. FAMIS covers all the medical care growing children need to avoid getting sick, plus the medical care that will help them if they do get sick or get hurt.

Walker also can help with Medicaid for Pregnant Women/FAMIS MOMS by providing help with the application process for new coverage, renewal forms, replacement cards, address changes and other aspects of FAMIS without a visit to the Department of Social Services (DSS).

For questions or to schedule a specific appointment date and time, call Walker at (276) 732-0509 or email awalker@healthycommunitymhc.org.
