The Ferrum College Horticulture Program is preparing for its annual Spring Plant Sale, with this year’s event featuring more plant varieties than ever before. The sale will take place Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26—from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Titmus Agricultural Center barn, located at 370 Ferrum School Road.

Grown and cultivated by Ferrum College students, the wide selections of plants for sale are ideal for homes, gardens, and landscapes. Shoppers can choose from houseplants and tropicals, succulents, petunias, SunPatiens, geraniums, citronella, begonias, ferns, celosia, marigolds, coleus, polka-dot plants, perennial herbs, and a variety of vegetables, including tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, and melons.

“The Spring Plant Sale is a valued tradition at Ferrum College, showcasing the meaningful hands-on experience our students gain at the Titmus Agricultural Center,” said President Mirta Martin. “We invite the community to join us and support our students’ work.”

That hands-on learning is on full display in the College’s greenhouses, where students have spent months cultivating this year’s selection.

“The greenhouses are bursting with color and variety this year,” said Titmus Farm Manager Sarah Isley ’16, who oversees the annual plant sale. “Our students have worked incredibly hard to grow and care for these plants, and this sale offers the community a wonderful opportunity to support their efforts while enhancing their own homes and gardens.”

Plants will be available at affordable prices:

• Annuals and houseplants: $4–$15 each

• Hanging baskets: $14–$16 each

• Vegetables and herbs: $3–$5 each

• Annuals in cell packs: $4 per pack (3–4 plants)

All proceeds benefit the Ferrum College Horticulture Program and its hands-on learning opportunities. Attendees are encouraged to bring boxes to carry their purchases; cash and checks will be accepted. Community members, alumni, and gardening enthusiasts are invited to attend and enjoy this vibrant spring tradition.
