The Patrick County High School (PCHS) Fishing Team participated in their first qualifying tournament of the season at Lake Gaston.

In the Senior division, Jake Caine and Devin Walker weighed in 8.70 lbs., placing 4th overall and securing their spot in the state championship in May 2023.

Evan Havens and Caleb Hostetter weighed in 7.32 lbs., placing 7th overall.

Jonah Shockley and Hunter Heath placed 10th with 6.79 lbs.

In the Junior division, Evan Eastridge placed 3rd with 4.13 lbs., securing his spot in the state championship.

Tripp Thompson and Jacob Spencer weighed in 2.00 lbs., placing 7th in the JR division.

Forty total teams competed from area high schools. Overall, the PCHS Fishing team weighed in a total of 38.35 lbs.

Special thanks to all of the boat captains who volunteer their time and equipment to allow these aspiring anglers to compete. Without you all, this would not be possible.  Also, the team thanks everyone who stopped by their fair booth.
