Fishing teams head to state competition

The Patrick County High School Fishing Team had a successful fishing tournament Saturday at Philpott Lake. They competed against other area high school teams in the B.A.S.S. Nation of Virginia Junior State Qualifier #4 South Division tournament.
Ethan Cobbler and Nick Whalen finished second in the Senior Division.
Hunter Heath and Jonah Shockley finished in third place in the Junior Division.
Nine of the 12 PCHS fishing teams are headed to state competition.

The Senior Division teams headed to state are Bryley Pike and Kylee Joyce, Ethan Hubbard and Andrew Willard, Blake Pike and Kase Leftwich, Isaiah Nickelston and Gavin Hazelwood, Devin Walker and Jake Caine, Nick Whalen and Ethan Cobbler, David Brant and Zach Heath.
The following PCHS Junior Division teams also will move to the state level: Hunter Smith and Caleb Geiger, Jonah Shockley and Hunter Heath.
