Children heard stories of fossil hunting and examined real fossils at the library’s Storytime. Youngsters even examined coprolites or fossilized dinosaur poop. The children learned how scientists use fossils to tell a story about what the earth was like thousands of years ago followed by making their own fossil models using clay and shells. They put fossilized sharks’ tooth in their models. The program was led by children’s librarian Sam Edmundson and Master Naturalist Norma Bozenmayer.
