A foundation created to honor a local man’s memory will donate funds to several organizations this year, according to a release.
The Beau Justin Beasley Charitable Foundation will donate $1,000 each to the Caring Hearts Free Clinic, Stuart Volunteer Fire Department, CCDF Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Patrick County chapter of Gideons International, and the Hazel Y. Clark Patrick County Public Animal Shelter.
Beau Beasley died in February after suffering a heart attack. He was 36.
“The shock of that day is constantly with us,” his father, Roger Beasley, said in a release. “Ten seconds do not pass without our thinking of him and what a phenomenal person he was and still is. It seemed that everyone knew him, and to know him was to love him.
“Perhaps one reason for this was how much he cared for other people. He never met a stranger and his kindness and compassion for others was endless,” Roger Beasley said. “He generously gave of himself to help someone in need.”
Roger Beasley said the family created the foundation to honor Beau Beasley and carry on his good deeds for others.
The foundation will disburse monetary aid to service organizations in Patrick County as well as neighboring areas, Roger Beasley said. The plan is to give donations to organizations annually, in December.
To honor Beau Beasley’s memory with a donation, make checks payable to: The Beau Justin Beasley Charitable Foundation and mail to Roger and Sherry Beasley, 2155 Elk Creek Road, Stuart, Va., 24171.
