Frank Bernard Hylton

Mr. Frank Bernard Hylton, age 91, of Stuart, Virginia departed this earthly life on Monday, December 5, 2022, at SOVAH Hospital of Danville. He was born in Patrick County on July 29, 1931, to the late Greeley Thomas Hylton and the late Lena Ella Hylton. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Alvina Goode Hylton; one sister, Mildred Minter; two brothers, Willie Hylton and James Hylton. Frank will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and devoted “Pa.” Mr. Hylton enjoyed gardening, and was one of the founding members of the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department. Frank will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish the memories of Mr. Hylton are three children, Brenda Hylton of Ridgeway, Virginia, Becky Hylton of Woolwine, Virginia, Barry Hylton and husband, Shaun Richardson of Weymouth, Massachusetts; two grandchildren, Nichole VanZile of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Bradley Fain of Bassett, Virginia; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn VanZile, Owen VanZile both of Mechanicsville, Virginia; and several special nieces, nephews, and friends.

A graveside service for Mr. Hylton will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. in the Jack’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Ricky Burnette officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service at the funeral home on Thursday morning. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial donations in memory of Mr. Hylton may be made to the Smith River Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 122, Woolwine, VA  24185, or to the Woolwine Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 138, Woolwine, VA  24185. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is serving the Hylton family, and online condolences may be sent by visiting www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
