Garrett to speak at community watch meeting

Christopher Garrett from Virginia’s Department of Health (VDH) will be the guest speaker at the Fairystone and Pole Bridge Road community watch meeting Thursday, February 16 at 7 p.m. in the Fairystone Fire Department at 6687 Fairystone Park Hwy.

Garrett will talk about Virginia Department of Health’s readiness to effectively respond to any emergency impacting public health through preparation, collaboration, education, and rapid intervention.

VDH emergency preparedness involves state, region, local, and federal emergency response partner’s working together to enhance readiness to respond to all public health hazards, including bioterrorism and infectious disease outbreaks. This presentation will include information about the existence, purpose, and capability of the Strategic National Stockpile.
