The following request has been received by the Patrick County Genealogy Society:
• I am planning a trip to Patrick County in mid-July. I am doing research on Jesse Reynolds, born about 1765 and died in Patrick in 1829. I am attempting to find out where Jesse was born and who his parents were as well as securing the documents that show who his children and relatives were.
I think Jesse’s brother may be Moses Reynolds. Jesse’s daughter, Luvina Reynolds, was born about 1792 and married in 1814 in Patrick County to John Alexander Nunn, who was born about 1785 in Henry County. I have a copy of Luvina’s death certificate.
I have found references to a deed that may be found in Patrick County VA Deed Book 8, dated 25 March 1832, which lists Jesse’s children, including his daughter Luvina, and her husband John A. Nunn. In addition, I am asking who are Hugh Reynolds, Richard Reynolds, Joseph Reynolds and Elizabeth Reynolds? Besides the Reynolds and Nunn families, I am also interested in the Spencer, Adams and Alexander families.
I am hoping that other researchers or family descendants of these families will contact me so that we can correspond or possibly meet when I come up to Patrick County. David Sheley comments: Ms. Perry has provided a list of documents she wants from the Patrick County Clerk’s Office, and I will secure them for her.
She is also seeking documents from Henry and Pittsylvania counties, mostly deeds and wills. Alpha Hiatt is sending her the contact information for their clerk’s offices and we hope an arrangement can be made to secure copies of these documents.
If you have information or can help her with these families, I encourage you to do so. She is traveling a long distance for her visit!
