The following cases were heard and disposed of in Patrick County General District Court during the month of January.

CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC

January 5

Alexander James Cipko, Ararat, public swearing/intoxication, certified misdemeanor; point/brandish firearm, two counts, both certified misdemeanors; violation of protective order, certified misdemeanor.

January 10

Andrew L. Linster, Stuart, charged with reckless driving/accident, found guilty of improper driving, fined $100, costs $61, appealed.

John Dwayne McPherson, Stuart, noncompliance with VASAP, terminated from VASAP.

Ashley Renee Moore, Stuart, drive with suspended license, guilty, fined $200, costs $121, driver’s license suspended six months.

Michael P. Shough, Patrick Springs, reckless driving, accident, dismissed.

Marilyn Jean Smith, Woolwine, noncompliance with VASAP, terminated from VASAP.

Ruth Bushnell, Woolwine, bad check, two counts, both continued; fail to appear for trial, not guilty.

Cheree Nicole Dalton, Bassett, petit larceny, guilty, fined $150, costs $216, six months suspended.

Rogelio Santiago Morales, Ararat, assault, guilty, fined $500, costs $231, 60 days with 56 days suspended.

Michael Timothy Puckett, Ararat, assault, guilty, fined $100, costs $201, 30 days suspended.

Mariana Elizabeth Lopez, Stuart, violation of good behavior on misdemeanor offense, guilty, 10 day sentence, costs $115; fail to appear, not guilty.

James Richard Beasley II, Stuart, assault, guilty, fined $75, costs $429.18, six months with five months 28 days suspended, restitution.

Daniel Vance Goad, Patrick Springs, grand larceny, certified to grand jury.

Robert E. Thomas, Martinsville, speeding, 80/45 mph zone, guilty, fined $350, costs $47.50; DWI, first offense, guilty, fined $650 with $400 suspended, VASAP, costs $283.50, driver’s license suspended 12 months, 12 months suspended.

January 19

Phillip Combs, Stuart, assault, not guilty; point/brandish firearm, not guilty.

Danny Thomas Goins, Stuart, assault, not guilty.

January 24

Timmy Wayne Barnwell, Patrick Springs, reckless driving, 95/60 mph zone, guilty, fined $350, costs $96; safety belt violation, costs $25.

Johnathan Trevor Catron, Bassett, drive commercial motor vehicle without commercial driver’s license, dismissed; commercial motor vehicle operated without endorsements, two counts, first count dismissed; found guilty, fined $50, costs $96 on second count; drive without lights/excessive lights, guilty, fined $30, costs $61; drive commercial motor vehicle while out of service, dismissed; fail to appear for counsel hearing, not guilty; learner’s permit violation, no licensed driver, guilty, fined $50, costs $25.

Christopher S. Coleman, Collinsville, charged with reckless driving, fail to maintain control, found guilty of improper driving, fined $100, costs $61.

Dustin Wolfe Ramsey, Spencer, defective exhaust, guilty, fined $30, costs $86; defective equipment, tire, guilty, fined $30, costs $10; drive with suspended license, guilty, fined $100, costs $35, driver’s license suspended six months.

Erika L. Strothers, Meadows of Dan, defective equipment, guilty, fined $30, costs $10; drive with suspended license, second offense, guilty, fined $200, costs $121, driver’s license suspended six months; expired registration, guilty, fined $25, costs $10.

Douglas Peter Hopkins, Bassett, drive after forfeiture of license, guilty, fined $100, costs $191, appealed.

Tabitha Dawn Foley, Stuart, shoplift/alter price, guilty, 12 months with 11 months 26 days suspended, fined $150, costs $241.

Steven Bradley Smith, Stuart, DWI, first offense, guilty, fined $650 with $400 suspended, VASAP, costs $216, 12 months suspended, driver’s license suspended 12 months; reckless driving, operate with improper brakes, dismissed.

Nicholas Ashby Morris, Stuart, enter house to commit assault and battery, etc., two counts, nolle prossed on each count; grand larceny, three counts, nolle prossed on two counts, certified to grand jury on third count; trespass after forbidden, dismissed.

Landry Delaine Morrison, Stuart, grand larceny, nolle prossed; enter house to commit assault and battery, nolle prossed.

Archie Dale Belcher, Stuart, trespass after forbidden, nolle prossed; destruction of property with intent, certified to grand jury.

Walter Elbert Spencer III, Critz, point/brandish firearm, certified misdemeanor; assault, certified misdemeanor; nonviolent felon possess gun within 10 years, certified to grand jury; destruction of property with intent, certified misdemeanor.

Rhonda Kay Phillips, Ferrum, DWI, drugs and alcohol, first offense, guilty, fined $650 with $400 suspended, VASAP, costs $331, 12 months suspended, driver’s license suspended six months.

Mark Allen Mitchell, Claudville, point/brandish firearm, three counts, each count certified misdemeanor; violent felon possess/transport weapon, certified to grand jury.

Holley Nichole Wimbish, Bassett, falsely identify self to law enforcement, guilty, fined $100, costs $216, 10 days suspended.

Andrew Russell Tabor, Stuart, assault, guilty, costs $201, 90 days with 86 days suspended.

John Allen Brammer, Woolwine, nonviolent felon possess gun within 10 years,, certified to grand jury; shoot weapon across state road, certified misdemeanor.
