The following cases were heard and disposed of in Patrick County General District Court during the month of March.

CRIMINAL AND TRAFFIC

March 6:

Jacob Allen Gertsch, Mount Airy, N.C., possession of marijuana, guilty, fined $100, costs $161; fail to appear for counsel hearing, nolle prossed.

Ebony Chantee Brown, Bristol, fail to appear for disposition, dismissed; shoplift/alter merchandise, costs $216 including restitution of $117.15, dismissed.

March 9

Emily Dawn Harris, Meadows of Dan, unauthorized use of vehicle, transferred to another jurisdiction/court.

March 13

Hannah Cora Helbert, Stuart, reckless driving, fail to maintain control, found guilty of improper driving, fined $50, costs $61.

Bernard Elmo Hutchens, Spencer, non-compliance with VASAP, dismissed.

Tyler James Anderson, Claudville, reckless driving, generally, guilty, fined $150, costs $137.25, 30 days suspended; charged with elude/disregard police, found guilty of fail to stop, fined $100, costs $66.25, 30 days suspended; fail to obtain registration, guilty, fined $30, costs $10.

Richard H. Miller, Bassett, drive while license suspended, first offense, guilty, fined $100, cost $86, license suspended 30 days; fail to appear for review, guilty, fined $50, costs $156.

Vicky S. Slavey, Fancy Gap, three counts of bad check: larceny, found guilty, fined $100, costs $148.50, restitution $58.58, 30 days suspended on first count; nolle prossed, restitution of $62.37 on second count; guilty, fined $75, costs $138.50, restitution $75, 30 days suspended on third count.

Zachary Tyler Barker, Patrick Springs, assault on law enforcement officer, certified to grand jury; obstruction/resist without force, certified to grand jury; firearm: reckless handling, certified to grand jury.

Stephanie Angela Howe, Spencer, reckless driving, endanger life/limb/property, dismissed; DWI, first offense, guilty, 12 months suspended, VASAP, driver’s license suspended 12 months, fined $650 with $400 suspended, costs $186; refused blood/breath test, dismissed.

March 20

Chuck Hawks, Stuart, assault, guilty, 90 days with 86 days suspended, fined $100, costs $111.

Daniel Ikaika Camacho, Mount Airy, N.C., charged with reckless driving, fail to maintain control, found guilty of improper driving, fined $75, costs $61.

James Edward Howard, Spencer, reckless driving, endanger life/limb/property, dismissed; DWI, second offense, guilty, fined $1,000 with $400 suspended, VASAP, costs $286, 12 months jail with 30 days mandatory and remainder suspended, driver’s license suspended three years.

Kayla Willis, Cana, grand larceny, dismissed.

March 27

Penny White Foley, Stuart, fail to appear, guilty, costs $111, 10 days in jail.

David Earl Burgess, Patrick Springs, drive while license suspended, first offense, guilty, driver’s license suspended 30 days, appealed.

James Lester Helton, Patrick Springs, drive while license suspended, first offense, guilty, fined $100, costs $121, driver’s license suspended additional 30 days.

Cynthia M. Hughes, Patrick Springs, drive while license suspended, first offense, guilty, fined $100, costs $121, driver’s license suspended additional 30 days.

Mandy Crystal Nester, Pilot Mountain, N.C., possession of marijuana, guilty, fined $100, costs $161; expired registration, guilty, fined $25, costs $10.

Kelly Leann Rector, Salem, conceal/price alter merchandise, not guilty.

Robert Travis Rector, Bassett, conceal/price alter, first offense, not guilty.

David Harmon, Woolwine, fail to appear for arraignment, guilty, fined $25, costs $206; shoot weapon across street/road, guilty, fined $50, costs $25; point/brandish firearm, guilty, 10 days suspended, fined $500 with $400 suspended, costs $216; firearm: reckless handling, guilty, fined $100, costs $145.

Thurman Lee Linster, Stuart, attempted capital murder, kill for hire, nolle prossed; arson: unoccupied dwelling, nolle prossed.

Deana Sabatino, Stuart, fail to appear for trial, not guilty.
