A canvass of voters resulted in no changes following the June 13 dual primaries, and the state ballot is set heading into the November contest, according to the Patrick County Registrar and results posted on the Department of Elections website.

In the bid for governor, Ralph S. Northam was selected to lead the Democratic ticket, with 303,531 votes compared to the 239,284 garnered by Tom Perriello, according to the website.

Northam received 55.92 percent of the vote to Perriello’s 44.08 percent.

Justin Fairfax topped the list for lieutenant governor, with 252,226 votes, compared to the 59,616 cast for Gene Rossi and 200,605 for Susan Platt, the website shows.

In the GOP’s bid for governor, Ed Gillespie narrowly beat Corey Stewart, with 160,003 votes cast for Gillespie to the 155,466 ballots for Stewart. Gillespie received 43.74 percent of the vote to Stewart’s 42.50 percent.  In his bid for governor, Frank Wagner garnered 50,313 votes, or 13.75 percent of the ballots cast, according to the website.

With 42.81 percent and 151,880 votes, Jill Vogel won her bid to vie for lieutenant governor. Contenders Bryce Reeves received 141,888 votes, or 39.99 percent and Glenn R. Davis Jr. won 60,998 votes and 17.19 percent, according to the website.

Also on the ballot:

Incumbent Del. Charles Poindexter, R-Glade Hill, will face opposition in his reelection bid to the 9th District.

Stephanie Cook, a Democrat, of Franklin County and Justin Washer, an independent, Bassett, also are vying for the post.

The district includes Patrick County and portions of Franklin and Henry counties.

Susan Taylor, registrar, said a canvass was conducted June 14 of voters participating in the primaries. “There were no changes,” she said.
