Patrick County Girl Scout Troop 1302 held its annual Lock-in on Fri Jan13 at Providence United Methodist Church.

The girls started the evening with spaghetti or chicken nuggets and lots of side dishes. Then they

moved into working on their Hispanic Heritage Month Patch. They drew and colored flags of different Hispanic countries, did some special dances then made maracas to add with the music to dance and enjoy more of the evening.

Lots of snacks were enjoyed throughout the evening and lots of fun playing and enjoying being together with scout friends. Finally the evening wound down with all on sleeping bags watching movies till everyone fell asleep. Breakfast and cleanup followed on Sat. morning.

The troop thanks Providence UMC for allowing the girls to use the church fellowship halls for their great time. Many thanks to the leaders and parents for the work providing the food and patch work for the event.

Remember, the Girl Scouts are selling Girl Scout cookies at this time. Contact one of the girls and get your order in or catch the troop as they are set up at Walmart many upcoming weekends. The profits from cookies help provide many wonderful experiences and events as well as materials for the events that are held for the girls. Your buying cookies is greatly appreciated by the Girl Scouts especially from Troop 1302.
